A Masterpiece of Time In the high-altitude mountains, the rare Small Leaf Boxwood grows agonizingly slowly—barely one centimeter (0.4 inches) every decade. To reach the required density for this carving, the wood represents over 150 years of slow, patient growth.
We call this "The Wandering Ascetic."This is not a god on a throne, but a seeker on the road. With a simple bamboo hat and a Khakkhara (monk's staff), he walks a journey of a thousand miles. His face is left featureless so that you may see yourself in him.
